Pull out the spark plug, reconnect it to the plug wire, and hold the plug threads up against the metal engine case.

Turn on the ignition and set all the kill switches to the run position.

Set the brake and crank the starter motor like you were trying to start up the quad.

Do you see spark across the plug gap?

Be sure to keep a good connection between the spark plug threads and the engine or the spark may leap to you instead .

 

ive tried everything to get the kick start lined up but to no avail. i cant get the atv started does anyone know of any atv repair stores in ny. i have a local lawnmower shop would that work?

 

do i need to remove variator to reassemble the kickstart? if so ill buy an impact wrench then return it

ya i did im going to buy an impact wrench to take the variator nut off to make the job a little easier. how does this one look?

Even if you plan on buying it, using it, and then returning it (which is kind of ghetto think in my opinion), you will most likely be wasting your time.

 

Ok then maybe I'll buy one from harbor freight tools....
