110cc atv
#1
hello everyone, iv come to try and get some help with this 110 cc atv my friend gave to me.First things first, i will start by telling you about what i have done. I first started with the carb. Everything looked good, cleaned both idel and jet screws to a T. One problem with the carb, when i hit the electric start a little gas squirts out of the air filter hole( I am not sure as to why it does this. Tried to start her up after and still nothing.. (By the way its electric start) Just keeps going and going will not even backfire once.. my battery is brand new so i know its not that. Then i moved onto the spark plug. Took it out, and put it in the SP wire and against the engine, great spark..( I even tryed a plug from my working dirt bike still wont pop..) Check Compression with my finger over the SP hole and it blew my finger off, so that sounds good.. Im stumped on this atv, and would like to get it running before snow comes!

Also check your valve adjustment. This is a periodic maintenance requirement. They tighten with wear, and tighten even more when cold, so the symptom of tight valves is hard starting when cold, eventually leading to no starting when cold.
You shouldn't have gas coming out the air filter. Does it do this all the time? Do you ever see fuel leaking out the carburetor overflow hose?

Thanks for the help LynnEdwards. I just went out today and bought a feeler gauge( its circular is that ok?) anyways i dont ever see any fuel coming from the overflow tube, only seen it come out from the circle on the carb. And when i say it comes out, say if i put my hand over the whole and crank it, my hand is filled with gas,but my carb doesnt leak anywhere other then that, hope this helps. I will inspect the valves tomorow morning and let you know what iv come to.
