Default Ricardo has left the building

So, I threw in another regulator and all seems well - the "customer" (a friend) is happy and the toy is out of my shop/garage. I suppose I should have just gone with the obvious from the start - if the voltage applied to the battery isn't increasing with rpm, it's the regulator/rectifier. Something had to be wrong there.

Thanks for all the help - I definitely have a better understanding of how it works now!

I'm glad you found a regulator that is compatible .
