Default 50cc

Ok sorry it has taken me awhile, I replaced the battery with a new one this weekend, I pulled what I believe is the CDI. It has 4 plug ins on 1 end and that is all.On the side it says GY6125 2007 08 12VAT. I tried to start it after I replaced the battery but still nothing. I checked for a spark again but could not see one this time.

I am not sure if this is the CDI or the Stator. where is the cdi located at? I have 4 wires going into this and by looking at another post and the pics he put on, the part I have looks like one of his pics other than the cover over the connectors is black and not white.

Default New Insight

I was taking off what I think ws the CDI,( Is the CDI the unit where the spark plug wire goes into)?, if so when I was taking it off the plug wire came out of it and there were no braided strands on it so I cut the sheath back to expose wire and put it back into the boot ( on the unit not the spark plug end ) and then checked for spark and it was sparking like crazy. I tried to start it but no luck, I tried adjusting the air/fuel mixture screw and the idle screw but no luck. Any suggestions? what settings should I have the adjusting screws to? It does have a new plug and I do smell gas?

The spark plug high voltage wire connects to the ignition coil.

Stators are buried inside the engine side cover. You only see the wires to the stator emerging from the engine cover.

CDIs look like this:

Perhaps this is the voltage regulator?

Does it look like this:

Yes that is what it looks like that I thought was the stator. I posted that now I am getting spark after I reconnected the plug wire into the round part that is located directly across from that other part.
