ATV will start with remote but will not start by push button on handle bars will not turn over click or anything via push button,,,,,, starts fine via remote. Is this as simple as a bad push button switch ??

Maybe, but more likely your brake/starter safety interlock wiring isn't working.
Turn on the ignition, and apply the brakes. Look at the brake light. Is it lit up?
If not then the interlock isn't working. The quad uses an interlock to make sure that you cannot start up the quad in gear, and/or unrestrained. This is much like the safety interlock on your car that prevents you from crank the starter when the car transmission is in "drive".
The starter solenoid is fed 12 volts through the brake switch, so that it is impossible to crank the starter unless the brakes are applied - thus making sure the quad will sit still when it starts.

this happened to me before and it was the safety switch on the rear brake, it had slipped adjustment.. it is a plastic pull switch attached to the brake lever with a flimsy spring
