well got my things done early today so felt id go and mess again today. im missing my mm wrench that fits the nut i have to loosen to adjust the gap so am at a stand still till i see if the neighbor has it.

took some pics for the hell of it.......

looks pretty good in there to me but seems a lil oily. is it supposed to be a bit oily in there?

seems like i got the tdc all good with the t mark and the holes and lines on the chain wheel.

i dug out my gap tool but it is only 0.05-1.00mm and looks like i need one that goes down into 0.005mm area so i guess ill have to go buy 1.

id like to get it rite the 1st time with the gap needed but i need to know how many cc this quad is i guess.

title still isnt here yet but i have a pic of whats written on the motor and i wrote down the vin. if anyone knows if theres a letter/number in there that tells the cc please let me know.

since the decoder for the vin on this forum didnt have any info i googled atv vin code decoder and got this info on it.

it is a 2006 witch is what i figured from looking at sunl quad pics before joining the forum.

bad thing is the 1 i found still has unknown info on the model or engine size.

i tried a serial number sunl search with nothing but will just have to dig deeper

Yes.

Wait! .

The gap is supposed to be 0.004 *inches*, not *mm*. 0.005 mm (millimeters) is 0.0002 inches - too narrow by a factor of 25! Note that 0.004" roughly equals 0.100 mm

Go to the chinese forum and look up at the top of the posts in the "sticky" post area. Look for a post called "GY6 engine codes explained". You'll find your answer there...

yes good eyes. i realized that when taking the plastics off the motor. i plan to just duck tape the bejeesus out of it when i do finally adjust the valves and if i do get her starting smooth then i will have to find something more permanent.

flashback to my mm gap ok. so when i checked the exhaust valve gap with my 0.05mm gap and that wouldnt fit in there that is saying the gap is way too tight rite...since 0.10mm is bigger and is close to 0.004 inches
