Ok friends. I put a new fuse in and jumped the starter and she fired right up. It will shut off with the on/off switch on the left handlebar. so thats how i have been starting it. still confused as to what the problem is though. until it is resolved Im thinking about just using a toggle switch. Will this damage anything? And thank you for your assistance.

 

Now we can trace the no start problem. First I'd get a couple pieces of old wire (most anything laying around is fine). Connect one to + the other to -. Disconnect the plastic connector with 2 small wires from the solenoid. Now twist the wires tightly and be careful not to touch them together. Touch one wire to each pin on the solenoid this should cause the bike to crank. If not the solenoid is bad.

As far as using a toggle goes were you talking about big wire to switch to other big wire? This would cause the bike to crank but you will most likely melt the wires that are going to your switch. I can tell you how I solved this problem but I would like to try to fix it right first. My wiring was completely trashed when I got my bike or I would have taken the effort to fix it right too.

 

You also need to make sure that your battery is charged before jumping the solenoid or doing any further electrical diagnostics.
