yeah quad bike/atv, okay so u know the starter works but there is nothing at the button, need a test light or volt meter to test next phase which is getting power from the button down do the solenoid.

Great work again on your progress so far

I got a cheap multi meter from jaycar cost me about $10, now we know that the battery can turn the starter, can you use jumper leads to connect the car battery to the bikes main positive and negative terminals and see if you have power through the system. Connect it up, try lights and things, this will tell you if the system is getting power, also with some models you need to hold in the brake lever when pushing the start button or the starter wont turn over

okay the brake lever may also be a problem for starting as that opens the starting circuit allowing the trigger wires from the starter. I will try and give a lamens terms understanding of it for you

when u hit the starter it throws power down to the trigger on the solenoid allowing power to pass from battery to crank motor, when u pull brake level it completes a circuit which allows power through the wire down to the trigger, do you have wires that run from the brake level and can you follow where they go to

theres a black and green/yellow wire coming from the brake lever leading to a big group of wires going to a black box , i can actually easily connect these 2 wires they just slip on and off the connection pin if that would work

that would complete the brake circuit for testing purposes, personally I always do the cheap quick testing things before spending money, I mean if you join them and it work, you know its a faulty brake lever
