The 'expert' section needs to go regardless since I feel it's just a bit pointless as essentially the same threads exist in both the 'normal' section and the expert one, all it does is make searching existing answers harder and invokes certain responses along the lines of 'try the expert section, it's exactly the same as this place but I honestly don't think anyone here can help you'.

Personally I'd suggest a fairly simple split between Issues and General, Issues being self-explanitory and General covering topics reaching from 'What kind of Chinese quad should I buy' to various experiences and stories.
i concur, mostly. but hey, i'm nobody. i like the split of "troubleshooting & repair" and the General chat categories. that would really narrow it down. maybe we could enlist the forum member's help in making the different stickies like we already have. the carb one is great, now we need a wiring diagram sticky, an identification sticky where members submit pics and descriptions to help newbies ID their "unknown" quad. i don't know, a work in progress, but yes, a simple split however you want and terminology whatever you want. just about anything would be easier.

Any threads that you guys want turned into sticky threads let me know. That's easy.

I will take all the credit for the splitting by "Brands" idea... It wasnt a very good idea at all.. I do like the general chat, mechanical, electrical, etc,... split idea..

when you do expect the new format to go in effect? i can't wait. what will happen to the posts that are already in there? after so much time, do they get archived somewhere or are you going to archive them for any future reference?

As soon as we figure out what the changes are going to be.. Id guess a week or so.. Then Im not sure if threads would have to be manually moved to each new section or if there is a program that could search for and move them. I will ask the administrator that question today.

I just got done working 60+ hr weeks and figure its time to get this rolling..

Should we divide by engine sizes? 50-125cc, GY6 style, and 150cc and above? and then divide it into engine, chassis problems? and also have a general discussions section?

Or just 3 sections.. Engine problems, chassis problems and general discussions?

The ask a expert section will be dropped and mixed into what ever we decide.

Also.. Is anyone interested in becoming a moderator and helping me with moving threads and keeping a eye on this place? If you are either post here or send me a pm..

Let me know what you think..

Thanks, MWQ

3 sections sounds good, splitting it by engine size would be a bit silly since only the 150cc section onward would be talked about, since 125cc and smaller tend to also be smaller builds of the chassis, thus falling under the Kids quad section on the forum.

As you can see the new sections are here.. Give us a while to get all the threads moved...until that time post where ever you want and it will all get cleaned up in a couple weeks or so..
