Kazuma Meerkat/ Wildfire 50cc Carb Issue *HELP*
Hello,
I have been reading the thread about how to adjust these chinese carbs. I recently took my nephew's carb apart and cleaned it out since it was sitting over winter. Now when you start it, it's full throttle whenever the choke is off more than a hair and I can't figure out why. I made sure I didn't put the throttle slide in incorrectly, because it's positively going down all of the way and touching the idle screw.
I can get it to idle dang near perfect whenever I have the choke basically all the way on. As soon as you start to turn the choke off, it goes haywire and over revs very very high. Also, the throttle doesn't seem to make it rev higher, it actually seems as if it's killing the bike? I took the plug off and it has black soot on it. What could the issue be? I don't understand why the throttle isn't reacting the way the throttle is supposed to.
I also wanted to mention initially it was an air leak between the intake manifold and the carb. That black gasket with the o-ring was brittle and broken off. I ordered a new one last night, and swapped the one on my other nephew's 110 (They are all the same). I knew it was an air leak because spraying carb cleaner around the area caused the bike to die. Now, there is no air leak ( I tried spraying carb cleaner again) so I am not sure what the issue is and would really like to figure it out. It's driving me nuts. The issue is nearly the same even after replacing the gasket.
None of the jets are clogged, it has fresh gas, all of the jets were re-installed correctly, the needle is on the 3rd position from the bottom. I have my air/ fuel screw 2 turns out like the manual recommends. Where should the idle screw be? Honestly, the idle screw doesn't seem to be doing anything either. Am I mixing the screws up? I understand the idle screw as the screw the throttle slide sits on. Turning it clockwise would raise the needle giving it more fuel AKA higher idle and turning it counter clockwise would lower the idle because it's lowering the needle further down into the needle jet.
Please help!!! Thanks again!

I purchased a new carb on Ebay the other day, so hoping that fixes the issue. I don't see how I could have put the slide in incorrectly. I will take pictures when I install the new carb. The gasket is on correctly too. I put it the same way that 110 had it on.
I know for a fact it's not sticking and that it's going up and down freely. The throttle cable is adjusted correctly too because I have a tiny amount of slack before it catches, causing the needle to lift up letting gas in.

It is frustrating though, just because I don't know what the issue is. New carb should be here Thursday or Friday at the latest. I will report back in a couple of days. Hoping the kiddo can go riding this weekend.

I know what you mean. I still have my "cool" if you know what I mean

I just wanted to let everyone know that the carb was the problem. Not sure exactly what the issue was with the old one, but the new one took minor adjustments, and it's running PERFECT! Watch, because the company on Ebay I ordered the carb from actually tightened the fuel screw all the way in, so I had to make some minor adjustments finding where it didn't bog when stabbing the throttle. I am running the needle in the middle position, and have the fuel screw around 2 screws out.
