Default No Spark on 200cc Vertical Engine

Hello everyone at ATVConnection,

This season is my first time ever owning an ATV, so I am new to the ATVing world. I am having trouble getting my 200cc chinese vertical engine to start. My problem is no spark.

I am really not sure what CDI and regulator I need, as the ATV was missing parts. I think I need a DC CDI and 4 pin regulator, but I am not sure.

My stator has the follow (5) wires coming out of it.

Two are together in a group. A blue w/ white wire, and a green w/ white wire. Three are together in a group, all are yellow.

I believe the blue w/ white wire is my trigger. I get a 0.075 VAC signal when I put my multimeter on it.

The green w/ white wire I thought was my power to CDI but I only get 0.120V AC from it. Which is way under what I need I think.

The yellow wires each give me 3.5 VAC, or a negative value on DC. They are all tied together when I check for continuity between them.

I am thinking maybe I need a DC powered CDI that works off my battery.

So do I need a DC powered CDI that takes power right from the battery?

What is this green /white wire for?

Are the 3 yellow wires AC power out that needs to go to an AC regulator?

I also found an electrical schematic that might solve my problems but I am not sure. It shows (3) yellow wires going from the stator to the regulator, which I think is AC. (2) wires going to the CDI, and it looks to be powered by DC, am I correct?

I was able to find a picture of the stator I am 90% sure I have. It has the same wires out shown. See link below.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried the spark test (putting the plug against the engine and starting) and have yet to see a spark.

Thank you for any help. I can provide any additional detail as well.

Looks like you need a 5 pin cdi. Look at your cdi and hit up ebay and match up the connector style.. Same goes for voltage regulator

Default Problem Solved

Correct, I needed a 5 pin DC CDI, which is not common. Sparks good now.
