Default Leaking overflow, help please!

I bought my nephew a supermach (110cc?) for Christmas 2 years ago. He’s just now getting interested in it so I got it out for him to ride, put gas in it and it drained straight out of what I think is the overflow tube? I have no mechanical experience at all but decided to try to fix on my own. I’ve taken the carburetor off but it looks completely clean. I read about a float valve but it looks in good condition too. The throttle doesn’t seem to have any tension at all in it, spins completely around even before taking carb off and the cable is brittle. Could this be the cause of the leak?
Any help is very appreciated!

Overflow pipes are usually at the bottom of the float bowl and hang downwards. Often they are combined with a drain screw, which must be tight, or fuel will just drain out of the float bowl. The float needle can stick due to a tiny bit of dirt, so blow the seat out with an airline and make sure the needle is clean when you put the cab back together.

thank you! I’ll work on that this afternoon. With the throttle cable also not having enough tension to move the valve (flap? Not sure of the right word) would you recommend replacing that as well?

Stick a photo of your throttle cable problem up if you can. 110cc machines don't usually have "flap" type carbs, but slide throttles instead.
