Chinese 110cc engine problem.
#1
I recently purchased a new Chinese brand 110cc quad. After around 2 weeks of the kids riding it, the engine made a loud pop sound and slowed down to a halt whilst my son was goin pretty fast on it. When I checked, the fuel line on the top of the engine had popped off, and now it won't start, the electric start just makes a clicking noise and it won't bump. I don't have the money to take to a repair shop so hoping some advice may help me figure out the problem and fix it as cheap as possible. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. When I try to bump it I can hear the engine turning and I can tell there's compression. The plug has a good spark. When I press the electric start it makes a horrible clicking sound but I thought that if it was only the thing that starts it that's faulty, a bump would still work. Sorry for my hazy description.

Charge the battery up and see if you can get the starter to work, check earth leads and the main leads from battery, to solenoid, to starter, too. Ensure engine mountings are tight. If it is starter clicking rather than solenoid, (you can tell by listening to both), take alternator cover off and check the chain was on properly (if it has a starter chain), then take starter apart and check magnets have not come loose and starter brushes are OK. If it still won't start once the starter is working, clean the carb out.
