Default 110cc kids ATV

Hey guys, I bought this little guy for my daughter, changed the battery, sparkplug, cleaned the carb, finally got everything working, but now I cannot kill the engine. I read through all the electrical issues and I will go and check all of that shortly, however I was pretty sure, since I disconnected the battery, that my issue wasn't going to be electrical. I had to hot fix some needle valve issues today and that caused some gasoline to saturate in my air filter and so I thought that might have been why, but the ATV continued to idle for 20minutes before it finally died (i assume from lack of fuel, I actually had to leave it running and attend to some other urgent manners inside). Does anyone know why this might have occured? The kill switch, ignition, and removing the battery terminals from the battery all did not work so far. Thank you.

Hope it did run out of fuel, leaving an air cooled engine with no fan to idle that long could have overheated, and seized it. Turn fuel off, or whip the plug cap off, if an engine runs on. There are several types of ignition systems used on ATVs, AC CDI uses an extra coil on the stator that makes power just for the ignition, it is totally independent of the battery system, a kill wire runs from the CDI to ignition switch and kill button, most use earth to kill switches for this, and it is normally a black/white wire on Chinese and Honda stuff. Your machine is probably this type as removing battery didn't stop it. Black/white wire disconnected/broken can cause this. Take the wiring plug off the CDI and test for resistance between this black/white wire and earth. With ignition on and kill swich in run, then with ignition off and kill switch to kill. Should be open circuit in run and no resistance in kill and/or ignition off. Some makers (Eton) do it t'other way round, but I think yours will be earth to kill. If that wire tests out good, your CDI is faulty.
