Yeah I noticed the neutral light is just a 2 wire system. I just don't get why the quad doesn't have a gear indicator but has 5 wires coming from the trans. Also thank you so much merryman for your help.

Well I managed to use a different harness than the quad had and got it to run. One concern I had was that the engine stator wires had 2 yellow but the harness had a yellow and white with blue. I figured since it is an AC system it really didn't matter which one went to the white/blue wire. From what I could tell it didn't seem to matter. Engine seems to be healthy. I guess now I'm just going to have to build a harness for the lights to work. I've given up on getting the neutral light to work cause frankly I just don't care if it works. And once I get this one done I'm moving onto a Tao Tao 110. Harness on it is ruined so I will be ordering a new one. Also think the carb is trashed so might be getting a new carb. I'll take a stab at taking it apart and seeing if I can make it work.

Be careful, the diagram I linked to shows a white/blue going to the CDI this means it is from the exciter coil. Also shows two wires going from alternator to the regulator, a white and a yellow, these will be from the charging coils. There is also a black/red from trigger coil to CDI.

Thanks for all your help merryman! I've got all the wiring sorted out. Seems to be a pretty solid machine.
