I have an 83 Honda 185 ATC. The carb is leaking out of the vent line. Also it seems to be cutting out a little. I was wondering what adjustments I could do to it to compensate for high elevation. See it came from Texas and is now in Laramie Wyoming at 7200 ft. There is a needle on the top that can be moved up and down should that be turned inward. Thanks for any help.

to fix your leak, pick up a new float valve at the dealer and remove the bottom float bowl while holding the carb upside down. after you take it off take a good look at how things look inside, then you will see the valve that you want to replace (looks like rubber tiped a acorn) just slide out the pin and move the float up and take the old valve out and slip the new one in and reinstall the pin. now gently bend the float upward or downward until it sits level with the carb when it is held upside down. To get it running better at 7,000+ ft I would replace the main get (the big hex headed one) with the next smaller size and raise that pin clip one notch that you spoke about.. should run smooth now
