Is there any difference between a 2002 650 Prairie and 2004 V-Force measurement on belt deflection. The Prairie manual says between 22mm. and 27mm. Is it the same for the V-force?

I put new front and rear clutch assemblies with belt from a V-force on my Prairie. The belt seemed tight. I know it needs to break in but it seems to squeal alittle idleing in high. I removed the front clutch and it seems to be wearing on the solid sheave more than the moveable one.

Any thoughts?

Tonight I just installed Dalton's new billet faceplate, 58 grm. weights, and plain white spring. I hope I can get out of work early enough tommorrow to give it a try!

per the service manual on the V force belt deflection standard is the same 22-27mm or 0.87-1.06in

 

IT'S OK TO HAVE A LITTLE SQUILL IN HIGH OR LOW. THAT MEANS YOUR BELT IS TIGHT IT WILL LAST LONGER IF IT IS TIGHT. I GOT 2000 MILES OUT OF MY 650 BELT AND I HAD IT SET TIGHT ALL THE TIME.. HOPE THIS HELPS....
