Default Why a clutch kit?

White primary? TEAM secondary? Heel Clicker? What would I gain from installing these items on my new SP700? Are there any drawbacks to leaving everything stock? Will it void the 47 months I have remaining on my warranty? why?why?why? thanks guys.

a cluch kit will make it so the cluch wont engage untell a higher rpm ..... by doing this you will have more power om demand.... my buddy did this to his vforce and it made a huge difference

To put it simply, the clutch is set up from the factory to be acceptable under the widest variety of conditions for the widest variety of riders and to keep the revs down to protect from warranty claims. This means it isn't great at anything. There are no drawbacks to leaving it stock for the average customer, it works just fine. If you're on this forum, chances are you want more than the "average" customer. Clutch kits (and set-up) can do alot more than just raise the engagement rpm. The speed of the upshift and backshift can be varied greatly; the amount of belt squeeze so it doesn't slip and heat up the clutches and whether it reaches full shift out for top speed. This is why, unless you have loads of time and money to buy multiple weights, springs, helixes (or maybe it's helixi?) and test like the racers do - you're usually better off to contact someone like Rick Ritter and tell them what you use your quad for and how you ride, and let them set you up with a complete kit. If you're really cheap, start with a different primary spring and learn how to adjust the secondary preload. You may find that's enough of an improvement for you.
