SLIPPIN BELT NEED HELP
#1
We have a 95 400 Explorer and when I go into water just above halfway on the rim sometimes the belt will slip. I am thinking about putting silicone around the seal and maybe snorkels???
Also when I get into a hard climb it smells like I am burnin the belt I am in low range. Do I need to replace the buttons?
Any help will be appreciated

To keep water out of the belt drive, keep the throttle going. Don't stop or you will suck in water. As for the belt smelling like it's buring up, if the problem started happing now and the machine is a 1995 modle, you may need to replace the belt.

I agree with the above comments. You probably need to replace the belt. Usually once you slip it real good, you will need to rplace it, or it will slip easier.
As for water causing it to slip when it is only at wheel deep, sounds like the seal around the clutch case is bad. I would start there on that one.

Thanks I believe I will try the seal and maybe new buttons will pick them up tomm. since my piece is going to the shop. I keep the throttle down in the water and I have made the belt slip quite a few time the belt is five years old maybe it is time for a new one
