Dynatek CDI, DG3, and DG5

Hey riders,
I got a couple of questions for the riders that have these. I'm looking into getting one. I just heard about the DG5. i tried looking it up but iti couldn't find it on the Diamond G Racing web site. whats the difference between the DG5 and the DG3? Also if i were to install any of these would i have to re-jet? and how many of you have had to rejet? i'm thinking about the Dynatek's CDI. i have heard and read alot of good things about it. has anyone had any problems with any of them? i ride alot of mud and leisure play. in ya'lls opinion what would you recommend?? also in installing any of these is there anything else that needs to be done. I know that you could use the degree keys but is it nessasary and what else is a MUST if perchasing one of these. any information is greatly appreciated. THanks Alot.

Here is a little info.
The dg5 is just a dg3 with an on/off switch already installed. The dg modules have to be hard wired in. They increase the timing but at the higher rpms the timing still retards like on the stock cdi, you are just at a more aggressive timing all of the time.
The dyna is a plug and go mod. It increases timing to 33 and it stays at that point throughout the rpm range. They are about 100 bucks more than the dg modules.
If money is an issue you will be well off with the dg. It provides a great deal of increased performance for a lesser price. Most people with the dg modules will not see enough of a gain to warrant purchasing and installing a dyna.
I am personally saving up for the dyna. I like the idea of the better performance and being able to plug and go. Or being able to unplug it and reinstall the stocker with no hassle.
I'm sure either would make you happy though.

Maddog pretty much sums it up. I have the DG5 and love it, I used the $100 i saved towards skid plates. Both products show a good gain, the Dyna from what I heard gives you about 1 to 3 mph gain on topend. So if top speed is what you're after then go with the Dyna . I like the idea of the off and on switch with the DG5 turn it off totally takes it offline. You would have to carry the stock CDI around with you if you had a problem with the Dyna. And about the jetting, i didn't have to do it , and I don't think anyone else had to with either product.

I instal a advance key of 4-5degs and I had to rejet from 145-148 to 153- 158 it was wort it. the difference shows on high speed now I just have to figure out how to get more gearing because it rev really high at 60-62mph. hope that help !

03twinbullet - what are you running for airbox and exhaust mods that make you need such rich jetting?

I did a similar version of the nyroc exhaust mod the only thing I did remove losts of things in the muffler, it is barely strait pipe and sound like the procircuit (realy mean and loud) and almost if not the same increase in power. As for the airbor I run a k&n filter and a large snorkel with this airbox it was going great until I put the advance key than I had to rejet to 152-158 main jets and put one more washer behind the needle (total of 4 #2)otherwise it was pinking like hell !!. I didn't spécified I live in quebec it's not as hot as most of your riding area. as soon as I have time I will make myself a clutch puller and play with the gearing,
