Default SPORTSMAN 700 QUIZ

I already know the answer to this question but I thought I'd let you take a guess.

My 700 is running very rough at low speed (around 5-10 mph), and when letting off the gas it back fires. This happened all at once, but got worse with time and never cleared up. Now it will start but runs to rough to even move.

What is your diagnoses?

Default SPORTSMAN 700 QUIZ

The 600 and 700's had problems with the coil wires rubbing against a frame support and wearing holes in them causing them to lose spark against the frame. This was expecially known on the right side wire. Check the wires real good. You can wet it down and run it at night to see if you can see any spark jumping.

Pull the foam out of the air box snorkel top end (up under the gas tank cover).

Poorly adjusted etc's, & exaust leaks can cause backfiring on hard decel. Or sounds like above, a plug wire, or even an intake boot.
