Help with rear sprocket mount removal
#1
Got my new Dura Blue Eliminator axle in today, but need help with removing the rear sprocket mount that is still on the old stock axle. I have removed the snap ring but still will not move either direction. Should this be pressed off by a machine shop. Anyone knowing how to do this please reply. Thanks

Well when mine needed replacing it came off easy..the splines were gone on the inside. When i put the new one on it was VERY hard to get back on..took allot of beetin it with a hammer and such. If the snap ring is off the front of the sprocket hub you could prob heat the sprocket hub up just enough to get it ti expand and not the axle then hit it with a hammer untill she comes off.

I was able to talk to a service tech for Bombardier today. He said that the rear sprocket hub was pressed on and should be pressed off as well at least on the stock axle anyway. He wasn't sure about the Dura Blue axle though. I guess this means I will be going to the machine shop tomorrow to get it pressed off.
Thanks for the replies.

you don't need a press, you just need a good sized hammer, a strong arm and some time, my bro has done this a few times when he had a bent axle, then we got a used one from a forum member but it was bent to(but he was great about it and didn't make us pay a dime, even for the shipping, some of these guys on here are great), all my bro did was hit the hub and going across almost like tightenin up lug nuts, so your not hittin the same one or 2 over n over again, worked good for him,
