Default Wolverine float bowl adjustment?

I changed my main jet to a 145 from 140 since it has a slip on FMF muffler and a K&N. While I was going to do that I thought it would be a good time to clean the carb. Good thing I did, it was pretty dirty. I got it all together but now it leaks fuel out of the drain. Seems like the float is not sealing? Maybe I bent the little metal piece on the float? To adjust it in the manual it says to bend it back. How do you know what is correct? I have seen that people used 1/8" clear tub or the actual float level tool, but how do you know where it should be?
Would this affect the performance?

Did you pull the float out when you cleaned the carb? Make sure you have the float valve in the correct way. If it's in upside down, it'll probably leak quite a bit.

No I didnt take it out, but I think when I had it apart, I may have pushed on the float causing it to be out of whack.

That may have done it. How much fuel is leaking out? Make sure you have the bowl drain screw tightened all the way before you tear into it and mess with the float.

The manual gives a measurement to reset it. Flip it over and measure from the flange the float bowl seats against. It is described in the service manual, do you have one? If not I can try to email you the page with the instructions.

I bought the CD version of the service manual. I'll have to look at it again and see what it says. I didnt think I saw detailed instruction though. I could be wrong.
