would the 300EX make me a good first quad?
#1
i've been riding dirtbikes for about 12 years now and all the guys i ride with have started riding quads so i decided its time for me to do the same.
We ride mostly trails, the local stripmines and back roads. would the 300EX make me a good first quad?
thanks for the help

p.s. none of the guys i ride with own a 300EX one rides a warrior one a blaster and the rest are assorted utility quads.

The 300ex is an excellent intermediate quad. I had one, but found that I am too big for it. Now riding a 00 400ex. Love it. It is really up to you. I would suggest going for the 400ex. It has excellent manors (my wife can ride mine) and handling.

its a big decision!
the 300ex is a great quad. I am 6' 180 pounds. It handles great, good power, reverse, comfortable, and it just looks good.
To me its one of the most versitile quads out there.
It will do whatever you want it to pretty much.
With a few small mods you can get more power out of it.

I started with a Recon last year and now I have moved up to a 300ex. Get it, its great! Had my first ride on it yesterday, and believe me... wouldn't have anything else. It will be a great first quad for you. Lots of power, great handling on the trails.

I have always been interested in the 300ex. I found one that already had most of the goodies on it so I bought it. Now every one I ride with is going the 400 & 660's. Even though you are wanting a beginner machine it only take a little while to learn that you should have bought something bigger. I'm 6'3 and 175lbs. I started out on a blaster. What a sight that was. LOL!!!
I am now finding that I want a Raptor, mostly due to the fact the raptor has reverse and now other big bore does. I ride woods all the time. The 300 has never let me down. I can climb any thing my buddies can and I have not had any problems with it other than normal wear and tear. A larger frame and more power are my new wants now. I ecspeacily loved the deep rumble of the big bores with the right exhaust. The choice is up to you but remember in the long run you will wish you bought something larger and you will still be paying for something smaller. Get what you want you only live once.
