What came on it? You could check here, Make sure you click "CHANGE VEHICLE" and type yours in! After I posted this, I looked too, you are correct. It calls for the different belt. Are you having clutch problems? If so, I'd change it first!

In that case, you may have one of those Manufacture date issues. Keep that in mind when you need a belt. May save you a trip back to the dealer!

this what polaris says goes on a 06' 500 efi pn# 3211091 Belt, Drive if that belt number you wrote is on your bike then its a older 500 belt according the polaris site.

I am unaware of the differences in all the belts. There are MANY different belts for Polaris ATV's. The manufacture date is sometimes important. It is the date the quad was made. Yours should be on the clear sticker in front of the big headlight. Not just the YEAR. But the month and day are sometimes needed when ordering parts!

You know that is kinda weird because I just changed the belt 2001 500 sportsman and it had the 069 belt on it. The dealer gave me 091 belt. I put the 091 belt on it and it seems to run fine but I have not driven it very far yet. My old belt the 069 did have grooves on the teeth but I figured they were worn in there from the pulleys. The 091 looked a hair wider then the 069 but it was also worn. When I looked it up the polaris schematics it said that 091 was for EB models so I figured that meant ebs. I had my clutches worked on a couple of years ago and I figured that when they did that they put the wrong belt for a non ebs model on it. I don't know.

In many cases as parts upgrade, the part number changes. So, if you ask for a particular number and get something totally different but is similar looking, the old part number superceeded to the new improved item. In the automotive world, most american manufacturers add a suffix (i.e. A, B, C) to the original part number to let you know it has been updated and how many times it has been as well to save time in phone calls back and forth.

if you put that belt number onthe look up, you'll see that it fits a good many wheelers like a magums and others. the the other one is for ebs bikes but wouldnt hurt the non ebs ones. does the newer '91' have top cogs like the underside. if so this belt is better for cooling. either way you have a better belt now.
