Default TrailBlazer 250 Starter

My mom has a 2001 Polaris 250 TrailBlazer and it needs a new electric starter, I have the starter ready to come out except there is 1 bolt in betwean the motor and starter and I can't get to it. How do I? I have tried to pull off what I think is to be the clutch to be able to pull off the cover that is betwean the clutch and motor but I was unsuccessful. Does anyone have any tips for me? You need to remove both clutches and the cover. You'll need a clutch puller for this. You can also try to tip the TB up on it's back wheels and remove the skid plate to get at it that way.

cdrmotorsports; where can i get a clutch puller? does auto-parts stores rent them out?

trailblazermudrunner; the cyliniod is ok as far as i know, the starter has a nice hole in it's case because she loaned the bike out to a friend and it came back with a hole in the starters case, don't know how it got there but i was just asked to see if i could fix it.

I'm pretty sure you can rent a clutch puller from a place like Autozone. Do you hear a click when you press the start button? If so, the solenoid is OK. If there is no click, get a heavy wire and put it across the two big poles on the solenoid while hitting the start button.

Hey if you tip the machine up like in a wheelie, remove the skid plate and you can get to the bolts, it is tight but it can be done, and you dont have to remove the clutches.
