Default 22" tires on the rear of the 250 Sport?

Walmart here had one heck of a deal on Carlisle Stryker tires. 22x7x10's on clearence for $30 apiece. Couldn't pass them up as the stock tires are not going to last too long.

I can't see where it would create any problems, anything I'm missing? I plan on having them mounted up tomorrow.

The only thing I can think of is if their OD is larger than the stock tires it will in effect change your gearing again.

Great deal on tires though.

Best I can figure, It should raise your roll about 5%, which will affect acceleration. By roll, I mean how far the quad will move on a single wheel RPM. If your on a 14 tooth, you will probably be ok. I don't really know how ATV tires react under load (if they balloon up), but if they do then you may find it to cause 3rd and 4th gear to be less responsive to throttle. All of this is theory based on the gravitational flux of Venus, so take it with a grain of salt. Better yet, since you already bought them, let *US* know how they work for you! I'm thinking about going with an even larger front tire, and smaller tires on the rear with a dirt/sand tread when I change tires.

Well they worked out great. No apparent effect on acceleration, so gearing isn't a problem. My son says it handles fine, and seems to "bite" alot better. We've had some rain so it is rather gooey here in places. He had no problems getting thru it, or climbing hills.

Now for the fronts.....

Well I wasn't going to but... I found a small gash in the sidewall of one of the rear tires. We are planning on going out to an offroad park here in Indiana called Badlands on Saturday. Didn't want to be out in the middle of BFE and have the tire go down.

BTW, how are your fronts doing? The one's on my sons are already worn pretty bad. We have done most of our riding so far in fairly soft dirt/mud, and grass fields. The stock tires apparently are a VERY soft compound, and won't last long.

So far my tires look pretty good tread wise, and I have put some miles on asphalt! I am going riding with my dad to day and should have some fun, he has been looking forward to riding with me! How about some pics of the new tires?
