For a work bike I would recomend the SP only because it has a low range. I personally have no expiriance with the Hawkeye.

Default hawkeye or sportsman 450

Just went through that with a new bike for the Wife. Bought a 500 HO, the wife loves it. She didn't ride a Hawkeye, but She did look at one and sit on it at the dealer. Bought the 500. Del

I would go with a Sportsman 450 or 500. I have never driven the Hawkeye
but I have driven many kinds of Sportsman and they can pull things pretty well. I have a Sportsman 450, and my friends have a sportsman 500, 700, and 850.

I've had both and was pretty impressed with the Hawkeye, though I agree with the others the Sportsman is a better bike.

I guess your talking used since they do not make the 300 Hawkeye (name changed to 300 Sportsman) any longer, last one was 2010 I think.

Which 455 Sportsman are you talking about, the mid sized one with the smaller Hawkeye chassis or the Full sized 455 Sportsman?

The smaller 455 Sportsman is no longer made also since 2010. 2013 Polaris Sportsman® 400 H.O. ATVs

I have the 06 Polaris Sportsman 450, not the 400. Will upload pics later today.

i have had both of these bikes and there is no doubt if your going to work it at all, and the choice is a sp 450 or newer sp400/hawkeye, then the sp 450 hands down. the 06'sp 450 has low range which you would use for working and it has a bigger size all together which riding and working.
