Default 98 foreman 450s front driveshaft removal?

Hi, I have a leak at the seal where the driveshaft enters the front transfer case,do I have to remove the transfer case to remove the driveshaft? I found a diagram that shows a spring in the coupler that is at the engine but I cant get the driveshaft to move back a bit?Any ideas

You have to remove the 3 mounting bolts & the front bracket for the front differential ..Slide the front diff forward to remove the front driveshaft ..

Yes .. If your just removing the drive shaft the front axles/wheels/hubs/knuckles don't have to be touched ..
