2005 honda rancher at 400 problems with reverse
#1
Hi i have a 2005 honda rancher at 400 and since the cold winter my 4-wheeler has been acting up with reverse. It started to flash "---" when i put it in reverse and will almost stall out if i keep pressing on the gas, but when it got warmed up it would stop. It now does this all the time, so basically i have no reverse. If i put it into reverse and quickly hit the gas i can get about 5 to 10 feet before it starts messing up. Also my 4-wheeler has the ESP or AUTO shifting and if i am using the ESP and shifting with the pushbuttons it seems fine but in full on automatic it flashes "---" and wont let me shift out of the gear it was in. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong would be greatly appreciated and a huge help.
A little side note, last winter i took it in to honda for service and they said i needed a new clutch and they put one in. My main compliant at that time was that the 4-wheeler would not downshift in full automatic until it came to a stop first.
