Howdy DELUX500EFI............I replaced my front springs on my 07 X2 with the Polaris HD springs (#2876153). The front started to sag and the HD's brought it back to snuff.......a firmer ride and much better in cornering and no bottoming out when the front hits a dip.....don't know about the interchange part of your question......are you looking to use your buds springs if he gets the new HD springs?......NoJoke

Did the same thing as NoJoke. I ordered the Polaris HD front springs and it is a great improvement in steering, cornering, going down hills (no bottoming out), etc.

Is it as hard to change the front springs as the rear? My buddy had a hard time with the rear

The replacing of the front springs was rather easy. Check out the Stendori Sticky on CV Joint Removal Guide.......this will help on front springs replacement...........Have fun and good luck......NoJoke

You basically have to take the front rack/storage bin off. This gives you access to the tops of the shock towers. Lift the front end just enough to get the tire off the ground. Undo the bolt on the top using an open or closed end wrench on the nut and a socket or wrench (I think 3/8") on the top of the strut. Carefully take off old springs and reverse the process for the new ones. Don't jack it any higher than you need to go. I think the ball joints or something can get messed up.

It's not the ball joints that get meesed up it is that the CV joint can get seperated. OH yeah,....I found out the hard way. I would look into the EPI springs as well. I just did mine a few weeks ago and they work great and they were cheaper than the Polaris HD.

Thanks for the correction Big600. I wasn't sure on what would get harmed.
