Yes they go for around $200, get it from your dealer.

I asked my dealer about the availability of such a "kit". They didn't have a clue. Is it available as such, or as a replacement part for the ES - leaving one to figure out proper installation?

Thanks,

Mark

4x4Mark,

Why did you remove the Mega Max II from your Rancher? Is it to loud? Do you think the IDs will be any better?

I removed the MegaMax because:

- Poor fit on the Rancher. It would not seal well due to loose fit, nor would the recommended OEM clamp compress it - too big for the pipe.

- They advertise a removable "quiet core". Mine did not have one, so when I requested one, one arrived that would not fit. I was then told that the Rancher model didn't have one - already quiet.

- The discs fit together very unevenly. I spent probably 20 minutes trying to find the right combination for an even compression when tightened. Along these lines, I like the fact that the SuperTrapp's are not directly exposed to mud, etc...

Basically, I just got tired of messing with it, and trying to troubleshoot the fit. When I asked about their experience in testing the fit, their response was that one of their guys put one on a Rancher at a dealership just fine.

I called SuperTrapp and got very good responses from them on their models. All required hardware is provided I'm told. I spoke to HighLifter and received their recommendation. They indicated the MegaMax might just put out more power on the top end, but the SuperTrapp provides more in the low-midrange; this is where I want it.

I may regret the change, but hopefully the "experience" will be better. FMF is providing me a refund, which I do appreciate.
