broken front sprocket

i have broken the front sprocket on my 425 mag 4x4. how much trouble is this to fix and could i have damaged anything else(runs fine,got me home ok, in 2wd)i didn't know if this was something a non mechanic could tackle or should i take it to the shop.it is due for a dealer service anyway. also what kind of $$$ am i looking at. thanks

This is an easy repair for anyone. Sprockets cost about 20-30 dollars. Inspect the chain for damage. Replace it if it's bad. If you have a lot of miles on the quad, you might consider changing both sprockets and chain.

The dealer will most certainly charge you more for labor than the cost of the parts for this type of repair. Not because it's a difficult repair, but because they will likely spend an hour or two doing it.
