First, Try to adjust the clutch as explained in the owners manual. If that does not do it the clutch disk (all 5 disk) cost between $45-$55 from the dealer. I don't know what they charge to put them in as I did it myself.

What did you use for a clutch puller?

Not the $95+ Honda tool for removing the centrifical clutch, I found that a Harmonic Balancer puller I had fit! It looks like a steering wheel puller (with 3 holes) that line right up with the 3 holes in the clutch.
To break the nut free on the clutch pack just put it in 4th or 5th gear and set the parking brake and loosen the nut. You don't need a holding tool this way and you can retorque the nut this way too.

I recently replaced the clutches in my wifes Recon too. It was acting the same as yours as far as the slipping goes. After the new clutches, it is ok again. The old ones still looked good, but apparently they were the problem. I made my special tools with a big washer and a piece of key stock welded to the washer. It works good.
