I have a TaoTao 125 D that I can't get running.


Its been sitting about a year.. last time it was ridden it died. I haven't had a chance to check it until now, but I found that is died because one of the coil wires fell off.


Now it turns over, but wont fire.


I've cleaned out the carb, I can see thru and blow thru the jets.


When I pull the plug and ground it, I see spark.


My thoughts are, since there is spark, it is not an electrical issue. Does that make sense, or could it still be something else?


Spraying starting fluid in the carb doesn't seem to help.

There may be a valve stuck open if it's sat that long.

 

Did you dump the old gas and put new gas in it?

 

Is the spark good and strong? Their are little pin holes in some of the jet needles that are quite often over looked that never get cleaned out.

 

Try and start with the choke on (if manual choke), if it starts, then it's a blocked pilot jet. If still no start, check compression. If low, check valves. If valves ok, time to rebuild that top end.
