I have a 2000 Honda recon and I can use the pull start to start it but when I start moving it has a ringing/grinding noise coming from the pull start. When I pull the cord halfway out while driving it won’t make the noise until I know let the cord back in. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

 

The pullstart is the same as that of a lawnmower, take it to pieces and find the fault, or simply buy a new one, they are strangely inexpensive for 250s.
