Default Trailblazer/Skyhawk 170 Clutch Stuck

Hello all, my son was riding his atv and he broke the clutch cable. I purchased a new cable but quickly realized the Arm on the side of the engine will not budge at all. I took the side off and disassembled the whole clutch basket and put it together and I cannot figure out how this is supposed to work. The clutch lever pushes in on the Rod, but that whole plate is bottomed out on against the studs its screwed into, so it cannot compress the springs.

The rod, and everything I highlighted in yellow comes out easily without taking anything else apart in the pic, so its not like its pressing against the input shaft of the transmission which my thought would be to push up the clutch lifter to uncompress the springs. I don't understand the design of this or what is wrong. I checked this site and I have all the parts so nothing is missing in the diagram https://www.adlyparts.com/atv-parts/...70-quad-clutch

Difficult to explain, either imagine those 4 springs being missing, or actually take them out. There is then nothing to clamp items 3 to 6 together so friction plates slip against one another as plates 4 are splined to basket 2 and plates 5 are splined to centre. With springs in place, when bearing 12 and it's housing 9 are shoved down, the pressure on the bolts 13 (which will be shouldered), is taken away, just as if the springs were not there. It requires a lot of force to shove housing 9 away from the heads of bolts 13.

Thanks, I went ahead and actually removed the springs and mocked up and really thought about it. HAHA, I could see the pack was loose even when bolted down without the springs. I went ahead and put everything back together like it was and slipped the clutch cable back on the side casing before bolting down, and this helped. Everything works as it should, I would have never thought it took that much force but the hand lever clutch greatly reduces the force needed. Thanks for the reply as it helped me understand and assured me everything was normal.
