Mie,Ken,AZ400 or anybody else(clutching)

My cylinder is at RCR getting a mid to top end port done. Want to have everything done when it gets back. I am looking at a good all around clutch kit that will be good in woods and also that will be good when I want to straight line a raptor or whatever. Right now I hace the HPD red-yellow primary, violet secondary,42/38 helix and 58G weights. I was thinking about going bak to the 55G weights just to see what happens. Mike you run 51.5 if I remember so what does everybody else run. Just trying to get some ideas on a good setup so any help will be appreciated. Already have everything else. Just don't want to change stuff around when I know other wheelers will be in the neighborhood.
Thanks

I don't mean to sound evasive. I'm unfamiliar with the rpm characteristics of Ricks porting and pipe...that's if the pipe is his or HPD's. The best thing to do is get an analog tach, and then we can help from there. I have found the HPD roller to be one of the better "woods raging" mods. One of the best sources for clutch info (along with people here) is the clutch tuning book from AAEN. Really in depth. I'm kinda spoiled because I only live 45 mins away from both HPD and Hot Seat. Both have treated me great, along with great comments I've heard from and about Rick Ritter, we are very fortunate to have these people around. With the roller clutch, HPD also has some different compound angle helixs. I have one I need to test and tune on....after the ATV Sport magazine dyno deal. Getting long winded, sorry. Grab a tach, and a notebook. Do some runs and post the results.

Prior to going with the HPD full race set up I was running that exact set up. My suggestion would be to invest in a tach as Ken suggested.
But for now, I would do exactly as your intend to do by swapping in OE 55G's back in. The violet rear is right on, only other option for the primary might be brown (which will have a slightly lower engagement) other than that make sure the clutches are alighned, and grab a kevlar HPD belt.
Maybe try a 34T rear as well.

Snoopy 61,
No, I caught the mistake and figured you meant me too. It's O.K.. Like Modquad and AZ400L said, you can learn a lot from the book Aaen has. Probably a lot more than I or anyone else here could tell you. Knowledge is strength.
