Default Shifting....use the clutch??

I got a warrior and I have always shifted by using the clutch every time I change a gear. Someone told me its ok to shift without using the clutch, that it wont hurt anything. I don't know much about them its my first manual shift quad and I really dont want to screw up the transmission. Does this hurt them or is it ok?

I use it all the time. Other people can shift without the clutch if they want but i think i will stick to using it.

just my 2 cents
you should use the clutch and back off the gass a bit pretty much all the time its easier on you quad and it will last longer
the only time you can be hard on it is when your racing some people just let off the gas quickly and shift others like me keep it pinned and use the clutch

When I'm racing I often shift down going into a corner without using the clutch but I always use the clutch when shifting up. You can shift up without using the clutch, but why waste your trany.

I use the clutch only to take off and down shifting.

I got into the nasty habit of downshifting my EX with no clutch mostly cuz it was so easy to do.
It just slipped right into the previous gear easily.

In 2 years of doing this I have not hurt anything, but the clutch IS there for a reason.

on upshifts even when racing and wheelies,I use the clutch.
i find that if I hold the throttle wide open and smack a quick powershift,I gain some ground due to the revs flaring up a bit on the shift.

The machine will last longer if you use the clutch,so its a good idea to do so.

If you're at the right rpm when shifting it won't hurt that much (when upshifting). I wouldn't recommend downshifting without clutch!!!

But to be honest, I always use the clutch. It is there for a reason.....
