Default P650 WITH ACELLERATION MODULE VS KFX400 results plus trail ride review!!

HI GUY'S;
Well I just got back from a ride with 2 of my buddy's, one with a Grizz600 and the other with a Vinson. What a great ride! Anyway... we made it to the local sand and gravel pit and it was full of dirt-bikes and quads! We rode around a bit and I saw a kid on a KFX400...I stopped him and asked him to drag. He said sure and we lined up. My 2 buddy's got at the end ( approx 300 + ft away) I kept my bike in 2wd and the kid counted down from 3. At 1 we both took off...I got the holeshot and never saw him till after the finish line. He said he missed 3rd gear and wanted to try again. We went again, and again I got the holeshot, but this time he caught me just before the finish line and passed me. Last year I raced a Z400 several times (in the same spot) and lost by about 4-5 quad lengths in about 400ft. BUT last year I would get the holeshot and lose it after 40-50 ft. This year after adding the acelleration module I am holding on to that lead till almost 300 ft! I never tried to race in 4x4...but I imagine I would have won both times as spinning was a little bit of a problem in the loose gravel. The only difference is 26" Kenda Bear Claws and the Module. I can't imagine how quick she would be with the new C.D.I pulling all the way trough the power band! On a side note, a guy I raced last year in the same spot was there on his Raptor. I asked him to drag but refused saying his tires were bad! They wern't brand new but I thought he would still give it a go...but he was dead against it. Oh well first time a Raptor has been afraid of me..Ha Ha! I honestly think it would have been a good race...with his bad tires and all. He beat me by 5-6 lengths last year. Maybe I'll add the red spring and see what happens!
On the trail the bike was fearsome! I was wheelying everwhere! It was awesome...literally slingshotting off everthing, and every corner only to be on the back wheels. My two buddy's tried my bike, and came away shaking their heads! One of them couldn't believe the difference in her holeshot! AHHHH I LOVE THIS BIKE...ALMOST TOO MUCH! All in alll an awesome day!

Sounds like good results. The larger tires have taken a lot of snap away too.....good mod.

HI GUY"S:
I forgot to mention that I have My big heavy snow plow mounting bracket and skid plate(steel) is still on the bike! As well you can see in my signature pics that I have a big NON aerodynamic trunk seat that weighs 32lbs. I also have a winch on the front and I easily out weighed the kid on the KFX by 120lbs. He was all of 90lbs soaking wet! My bike is now a monster...AND I LOVE IT!

kawirob,
i must say you are making me salivate. i just might have to get me one of those. if i spend any more on this quad, my wife will have my @$$ in a sling. if you keep it up, i might need a place to sleep because the couch is very uncomfortable. lol

Try it in 4wd next time, it's the only way I can hook up.

I ran against a Predator 500 yesterday on loose gravel in 2 wheel drive...he blew me away. I didn't try it in 4wd, but after riding the Predator...I'm not sure it would have made a difference. Part of the problem was rear wheel spin...but that thing is fast...however it rides like a dump truck, I though for sure it would be smooth...my 650 feels like a cadillac compared to that thing.

The comfort level on a prairie is really unequalled for what it can do. My 2 buddies have a ds650 and a raptor. All the trails we run on allow us to go at least 40+mph non-stop except for tight turns. We can't get away from each other except in the long straight-aways and I jump at least as high and fast. I do think I ride a little harder and a little better... But landing a prairie is like cruising the interstate in a cadilac. The DS is really raw feeling and is squirrley in about all situations, especially landing. The rapor is much mroe refined and easier to ride. But after letting my raptor buddy ride the prairie, he's kicking himself for letting my DS buddy talk him into a sport. He didn't know that one quad to be so sporty, but still haul an elk out of the mountains. My DS buddy is too proud of what he bought to admit he wants a prairie, but you can see it in his eyes.

Try launching in 4wd, instant hookup.
