First Ride on the VForce - Comments & Questions
#1
I just bought a VForce for the Wife and started to break her in yesterday. It appears to have a great holeshot that is very controllable. It puts through the woods well which is important for the wife. The tires hookup a little too well for good powersliding on hardpack and the rear suspension seems a little stiff. I backed off the compression a bit but that didn't help much. The front shocks are on the lowest setting and I'm thinking maybe I should lower the rear to take some tension off the spring. Any thoughts on this? I'm used to riding 400 class machines so maybe the rear bouncing is typical of a larger machine. Also, I noticed that 3 of the tires have a slight wobble in them when going down the road. Is this normal? I'll be putting it up in the air later to check the axle. You can checkout the VForce breakin video on my website at Houkland Website
Thanks in advance for all your help!

Thanks!!! I kinda suspected the tires.
I also noticed alot of bumpsteer in the rough stuff. Is this normal, maybe a steering stabilizer would help? The other thing I noticed was the rear shock spring will hit the brake assembly on the swingarm when fully extended. Anyone else seen this?

I haven't noticed my tires shaking to the point where it would be a problem but I have noticed more bump steer than I'd like but that too is'nt a big problem. What I have noticed is that anyone under 160lbs seems to think its suspensions too stiff. I weigh 200 and it seems just right for me.04 V-Force

I have noticed a pulling to the right under fast runs, dealer has set the toe-in once, didnt seem to cure the problem. I have also stiffened the rear shock which is better for my size.

Thanks Ryanstones! Still trying to figure out why it loads so slow for some people.
Has anyone else noticed the rear shock spring hitting the brake assembly? Maybe my dealer installed something incorrectly? Also, any suggestion on how to adjust the setting on the bottom of the rear shock would be helpful. Thanks!

Anyone have an idea how to adjust the compression on the rear shock? I turned just about everything on the bottom of the shock with no luck. Also, anyone else hitting the brake assembly with the rear shock spring?
