you do not need to buy the whole fender, they dealer should sell just the extended flares.
FENDER FLARE EXTENSION KIT
Constructed of impact resistant polyethylene, this kit adds an additional 3 inches of clearance to fender flares to protect rider from water, mud, and debris.
'02-'04 all full size models with flares
Front 0436-433 $24.95(US) / $38.95(CAN)
Rear 0436-433 $24.95(US) / $38.95(CAN)
This info is straight out of the 2004 Arctic Cat Accesories Catalog.

i know what you guys are talking about with reguardes to the fender extensions what i'm talking about is totally different the actuall fender itself is now wider on the 2004s by 2"s the fender that rapps around the head light the one peice black part it's new for 2004 go to a dealer and check it out you'll want them cause they look stock and add more mudd protection measure from where your fender has a bend you'll see its only five inches wide then measure the one at the dealer you'll see it's 7.5" wide check it out!!! You will not find these in the accesories catalog.

I have the accessory extensions installed on my '03. They do an excellent job. (with the stock size tires)
I have looked at the 04's. They look better than the extensions, but don't look like they would provide as much protection.
When I'm off hunting for a week, I really don't feel like being covered with mud the whole time.
That's my $.02

These fender flares are only a stock item, I'm in the midst of talking to my dealer and he says they are the same fenders and will fit no problemo i'll have a price and model number next week stay tuned!! By the way alcoff I not talking about the little mud flap they installed on the 2004s Its the actuall fender itself if your not looking for it you'll miss it but when you measure it you get a whole 2.5-3" wider fender on the 04s then you can buy the mud flaps add those on and now your talking styling and coverage at the same time!!!

Ok I got a price and model # here it is, for the fender portion they call them "Flares" Right one is 1506-158 at $37.99 and left is 1506-159 at $37.99 The small extensions that go down past the foot peg are #1506-194 and there $20.95 each and the T-NUTS that hold it are $1.09ea Now these prices are in CANADIAN dollars. So if your interested call your dealer and give them these product codes and see how much they are where your from. And remember these fenders are from the 2004 650. If your dealer has one in the show room measure the fender at the bend and you'll see there much wider then the 2003 500 fenders. and there pretty cheap!!! Let me know what you think. And since the 650 and 500 have the same bodys they should just screw right in.
