650 stalling
#11
I have a 650 LE and just experienced the same problem. We thought the choke cable was broken and brought it into the shop. Turns out that the air box was full of mud and water (whoops!) and it has packed some mud into the carbuerators.

thought i would bring this back cause i still have the problem and the dealer wants their normal hourly rate for diagnosing the prob. and i don't have that kind of cash. it did it to me a couple days ago and i stopped and pand to my surprise it ulled one of the fuel lines off and turned on the key had good pressure and flow. so now i am realy stumped cause it really feels like a fuel delivery problem.
any body have any experiance with this? please help

they want their hourly rate? tell them to go F%&* themselvese that is what warranty is for and they didn't fix it to begin with i think you need to find a different dealer and i wouldn't have any clue as to what it would be sounds like something with the carbs still but then again it can be alot of things maybe a short in your electrical to where you hit a bump and it shorts out

I don't use the closest dealer because his service and parts dept.s are worse than nothing. I use the next one out, twice the distance. Great service and since I did some checking before I bought I get a 10% discount on parts because I bought from them (also got the best price by $500 too). They have never had the machine longer than 4 days, Friday to Monday, and if it is minor in at 9 and out by 3. All work so far under warranty and they are cheerful about it. I can call and order parts on monday and if they aren't in stock they are in on Wednesday. Must be why they are the largest volume dealer in the state. Well worth the extra miles.
As to your carb problem, sounds like water in the tank is getting sloshed up and sucked into the fuel pump and the engine won't run right untill it clears out. Try some fuel dry, but make sure that the product uses Isopropyl alcohol and not methonal or ethonal as the do bad things to your fuel system.

Thanks but I already tried that. I was hoping Rocksam would reply because he had the problem a year ago and I figure he would of found a solution by now. I think it has to do with the carb venting tubes clogging with gas when going over the whoops fast.
