Does any one how to keep the belt dry? I have a y2k 500 auto and if I cross a deep creek I get the belt wet. After the belt gets wet then the outer case bearing burns up. Is there any fix? Your suggestions are appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!!!

Put it in low and keep on the gas, keep a foward momentem. Had the same problem when I got my son his y2k auto. Now, even in rack deep water, we hardly ever need to drain the belt.

Getting my belt wet once in a while doesn't bother me. It's the bearing failure that bothers me. AC needs to get a better bearing in there. There's no reason a sealed bearing should fail like that. I got mine pretty wet the other day and haven't riden it since to see if that bearing needs replacement yet. I had mine changed once under warranty but my warranty is up in a couple more weeks. I'll get replacement bearings at Bearing Specialty and hope they last longer than the OEM ones.

I'm on my second set of bearings or I should say I'm waiting for the bearings , AC is back ordered 2 to 3 weeks at this time. If I put after market bearings in they won't warrenty it any more.If you ride in dusty conditions the case also fills with dirt , then hit a little water and it won't be long before the vibration starts. They need to redesign this vent and bearing setup. Anyone got a 500 shifter they want to trade? Didn't think so.

The Rubicon is a nice ride ride and I also like Honda but the suspension on my AC is what sold me on it. When I pass this AC on to my wife I will probably buy a Rancher S 4x4. Don't beat up my AC I surely won't beat your your Honda. My 2 cents worth. Ride safe!!!

Scotto, You were right!! It rained today and Stinking Creek got up out of its bed. I had to cross the creek three times in order to get back home. Tried using low and belt never got wet and I had water up to my front rack. I appreciate your help. Now I guess I'll call my dealer to see if the circuit breaker for the fan is out yet. I really hate to put on a switch. Ride safe!!!
