im lookin to possibly buy a new 500. ive got an 02 now and its great but i want the diff lock, and i like the new look. my question is ; how is the reverse in mud holes. does it have a low reverse? i know the 400 doesnt and if the 500 doesnt then im just gonna see if the new front diffs will inerchange with mine so i can get the diff lock.

 

I love my 500 (auto)... but I don't think the reverse is low.... it does have a rev limiter (which you can override if neccessary), but a couple times that I have been stuck, I have no problems spinning my wheels in reverse - even when I didn't want to.

My opinion only - others shall respond (hopefully)

an '02 500i. it has hi and low reverse. i dont like how the new ones dont.

 

Reverse is for offloading, Just give her a little more gas and dont let your lip flip in the hole !!! HA HA !!
