Default 2005 front drive shaft

I have a 2005 FIS Automatic AC 400, took it for a ride in about 10" of powder snow. Great fun for aboutr 2 miles then the front driveshaft worked its way out of the front diff, I removed the boot clamps and inspected the shaft for damage, nothing damaged. Slid front shaft back into diff and clamped boots down, went out again and same thing. Removed skid plate and took closer look, no damage, but the boot is pulled away from the front diff again and shaft worked its way out. Is there a trick to align this shaft so it stays put. Also got it home and tiped it up on its rear end and inspected for broken welds. Nothing there. I have two of these, the Auto and a Shift model a couple rears older, the broke one is two months out of warranty so advice would be helpfull now. thanks and love reading this forum

the shaft should have a round clip to hold it in the front differential. if the clip fell off the shaft may just keep falling out.

Thanks for responding. I did not see a clip, if there was one i'm sure its laying some place in the snow bank. It must be a Internal C clip that snaps into the front diff that alows the shaft splines to float in the diff splines, but blocks the splines so that the shaft can't be removed. I will look closer. Thanks again.

yep thats the clip thats supposed to be in there, looks like a 'c' clip. sorry i said round before. replace that and it should snap in with a good hard push ,or rubber mallet.
