Default 2005 650V2 electrical problem?

Good buddy just bought a 05 650 V2 LE back in the late spring so he only has about 1000 or so miles on it, and all of a sudden a problem has rose up. When it gets wet it quits and has a hard time starting, on Sat. it was running on 1 cylinder, then after it dried out it was fine again. We didn't go through very deep water either. He says he has put grease around the plug boots.
He washed it the next day and it did the same thing, can anyone give any insight on what could be the problem.

Thanks

I would suspect that he either has a electrical plug that is not tight and is getiing water in it, Or the cap on the plug on the dead cylinder is getting water in it. The cure is disconnect all the plugs, clean them and get some "dielectric grease" at the auto parts store and use it in all the plugs and use the same on the spark plug caps too. Oh yeah, cheap insurance, change the spark plugs, he could have a cracked insulator. If this is the only problem he has had with a V-2, he's done well.

Can you guys elaborate on this, are you saying its not a good machine. Having the kawi motor, should be a good thing no? and the tranny is a basic design, seems to have good axels and beefy drive shafts.
Just wondering.

The V-2s had a lot of belt problems early on in the game They cured them by last year, which of course was the last year for the V-2 motor. There were frame issues, cracks on the early models also and breaking axles until they upgraded all their axles.
