Gear reduction?

manual... i've got 26" mud bugs on it and when it gets in any kind of a bind it won't turn the tires over in first gear. I don't understand it. it shouldn't have a problem with these tires.

Hey man I have an 06 500 manual w/ 29.5 swamplites. I installed an outlaw superduty clutch kit from highlifter and i have no problems spinning the hell out of my 29.5s. What the clutch kit will do is hold the clutch shoes tighter and allow the engine to reach an rpm higher in the powerband before in engages w/ the drum. Works really well! Hope this helps..

Don,t those ATVs have a low range? Even my little manual shift 89 350 4x4 Big Bear would turn any tires while in 1st+low range or snap axles trying.

ill agree that there is a problem. ive got a 500m and im running 28 swamplites and mine will turn them over with no problem. you can tell there is a slight power loss(in high gear) but still runs fine up any hills.

I will say this if you get the kit that i got, the instructions suck! What it doesn't say is that you need to drain your coolant and pull an the hoses loose. I also found that it was easier to leave the clutch on the engine while changing the springs. They say to take it off, but the springs are very stiff and its easier to wrestle w/ them if the clutch is held in place. I suppose you could put it in a vise, but be careful not to damage it. Any other questions, just ask! I was able to reuse the old gasket, but the kit came w/ a new one.
p.s. be careful w/ the e-clips those little fellas will fly if they get away from you!!
