Default 700efi or 1000efi?

undecided, what would you get 700 or 1000? im gonna use it for trail riding and hunting. definatly want efi for riding in wyoming wiyh a guy i work with,(im invited every year for hunting). ill also use it accasionally for farm work. my first thought was the 700 for 3 reasons. one, its plenty of power. two, i want the camo and the 1000 does not have that option, and three, its been out longer and is proven a bit more. on the other hand, the 1000 is sweet. anyone no of any problems with the 1000?

If you want to be the fastest out there and don't mind shelling out a few thousand extra to do it, then go for the T-Cat.

However, the 700 will do all that you list and more.

Are you sold on buying an arctic cat or are you willing to take a look at Can-Ams or Kawasakis? Can-Am makes the great and mighty Outlanders and Kawasaki make the Brute Force which is another great ATV. I like the Outlander 650 XT alot. It comes with everything you need. The Brute force 750 does not come with all the goodies the Outlander XT does but it is a great performing vehicle with many capabilities as is the Outlander. But if you are stuck to artcic cats, then I would go for the 700, simply because you can't do 80 mph through the woods.

im gonna stick with cat. ive owned a 99 300 and now a 02 500 that i have used and abused. the outlander has that visco lock and i havent heard good things with that, unless they have changed it. the brute force doesnt feel right to me. while riding, it seems to have a hard steering compared to the cat. if i were to go with a different manurfacturer it would probably be the grizzly. that is a bullet proof and proven bike. nothing against the others but the cat has all the features i want and need. ive been riding for about 15 years so know what the manurfacturers offer in their machines and they all offer somthing the others dont but i narrowed it down to the cat. thanks for replies.

The grizzly is another nice machine that you should think about. Can-Am's visco-lock front differential used to take a lot of wheel spinning to engage the locked 4x4. New for 2008-2009, they revised the visco-lock and made it lock in quicker with less tire spin. But the Yamaha Grizzly would be another great choice. As you said, they are a proven machine and very reliable. But I would try to get one with powersteering on it because all the articles say it really makes your day of riding a lot easier and less tiring. I also like how on the Grizzlys, you can just push a button to engage the locked 4x4.

I would have to say the 700EFI would make a better Mule than the 1000 unless you do alot of heavy towing. . .

I too have also been think about getting the T-Cat 1000 but i hadn't planned on working it much tho it might be used for towing my 12,000LB M-275 in and out of the shop, I have used my Rubicon will roll it in and out but it don't like doing it as the qaud is about 200 pounds to light so the tires slip add a little weight she dose it ok. . .

the 1000 offers nothing that the 700 doesn't other than a little more power and bragging rights (nothing wrong with that though!!).

For what you listed, any 500cc machine is fine too. Most share a motor with big bores, only changing bore or stroke to make them smaller. I believe that is what Can Am does with it's motors. So one is essentially the other.

The 700 I have has more power and speed than I will need, and looking at the Cat spec sheet, even the 366 is rated to tow exactly what my 700 is rated for. So to be honest, the bigger motor is really just for more power that you're unlikely to even need. On any terrain worthy of a 4x4 machine, you won't go any faster on a 1000 than you will a 400........

I haven't ridden the Thundercat, but I own a 700 M4 and I love it. It's way more than I need to have fun, go hunting, or haul anything that doesn't require a real truck.
