Does it sound like the accuator is working when you hit the 4x4 button? if so, there have been a couple of different issues with them. One is that there is a cork screw type thing in there that turns and locks the 4 wheel drive in. Well that piece is plastic and strips out. There is no replacement part for it as far as i know, at least when my neighbors broke there wasnt. He had to buy a new accuator, couple hundred dollars. Then there was another issue but i cant find the topic in the arctic cat forum here.

Ok i did a search in the arcticat forum. Type in "4 wheel drive not working" the first post by tomoswald describes the other issue.
